Ice canoe races

An annual part of Quebec’s winter carnival, these ice canoe races hark back to the era when the river froze over, and navigating ice floes and frigid water was the only way to to connect the city with communities on nearby islands and those across the river.   See photos and article in the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph for the rest of the story.
